This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, and how you can access it, correct it or complain about how we have handled it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. What we collect

We only collect information we actually need. Depending on how you deal with us, that may include:

• your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and phone number
• your order history and any correspondence with us
• payment details, which are handled by our payment providers and are not stored by us
• information about how you use this website, including pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location

We do not collect sensitive information such as health information. If you tell us about a health condition when asking for product advice, we use it only to answer your question.

3. How we collect it

Usually directly from you, when you place an order, create an account, contact us, subscribe to emails, or leave a review. We also collect some information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use the website.

4. Why we collect it

• Process and deliver your order, and to arrange returns or warranty claims
• Answer your questions and provide customer service
• Send you marketing emails, where you have asked to receive them
• Improve the website, our products and our advertising
• Meet our legal and tax obligations

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with organisations that help us run our business, and only so far as they need it:

• payment providers, including Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, and Zip
• delivery and freight carriers
• our email marketing platform
• our website hosting, security and analytics providers
• advertising platforms, including Google and Meta, for measurement and advertising
• our accountants, and professional advisers where required
  government agencies or law enforcement where the law requires it

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Cookies and tracking

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work, for example keeping items in your cart. Others help us understand how the site is used, and allow us and our advertising partners to show you relevant advertising.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the website work.

We use Google Analytics and advertising tools provided by Google and Meta. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and you can manage advertising preferences through your Google and Meta account settings.

8. Marketing, and how to stop it

We only send marketing emails to people who have asked for them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. You can also email us and we will remove you.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you have placed, such as order confirmations and delivery updates.

9. How we keep it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. That includes access controls, encrypted connections, and choosing reputable providers.

No system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.

10. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires. Order and tax records are generally kept for seven years. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.

11. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Email hello@zennalatexmattress.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.

You can also ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

12. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@zennalatexmattress.com.au. We will investigate and respond.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
