A latex mattress
designed for spinal alignment

7-zone natural latex construction, engineered to support your back the way your body needs.

If your back hurts when you wake up, your mattress could be the cause. A surface that is uniformly firm pushes against your shoulders and hips, throwing your spine out of alignment. A surface that is uniformly soft lets your hips sink too far, with the same result. Either way, you wake up sore.

What your body actually needs is different support in different places. Softer where your shoulders and hips meet the bed. Firmer through your lumbar zone, where your spine needs to stay aligned. That is the principle behind a zoned mattress, and it is the foundation of how Zenna is built.

How the 7-zone design works

The zones are physically engineered into a single block of natural latex. Not layered. Not glued. Not bolted on. Each zone has a specific firmness profile, calibrated for the part of the body that lands on it.

Head Zone

Softer to allow your shoulders to sink in slightly helping alleviate soreness in the neck and shoulders.

Shoulder Zone

Provides support to your head and neck to help prevent neck pain

Horizontal ventilation channels

We designed the core with horizontal ventilation channels in the shoulder zone. They create that extra soft comfort that shoulders need while maximizing ventilation. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE SHOULDER ZONES SOFT ENOUGH.

Lower Back Zone

Essential for lower back comfort, the lumbar zone is the firmest section, providing support for the natural curve in your back, and preventing the spine from sagging.

Pelvis Zone

Allows for the natural curvature of the hips; this allows for pressure point relief and spinal alignment while allowing the back zone to support the small of your back.

Knee Zone

The knee zone is the same firmness as the lumbar zone. This zone provides the correct support for your knees and helps to ease inflamed joints.

Lower Leg Zone

The lower leg zone features the same firmness as the shoulder & upper back zone. It provides comfort and pressure point relief to your lower legs.

Protective Cotton Sock

This protective sock is used to protecting the latex from exposure and rough handling ensures that it protects the natural latex core during handling. On average, humans carry 40% of their body weight in their midsection. Without the additional firmness of the lumbar zone, a soft mattress forces your spine into an unnatural position; this causes muscles to become stretched and strained, resulting in stiffness and pain. This lumbar zone helps relieve tension and lower back pain.

Bamboo Cover

A Natural BAMBOO zip-off washable cover ensures that skin cells & dust mites will not build up over time and provides the ability to wash out stains. Bamboo is naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, it has the lowest carbon footprint of all fabrics, and is considered the most breathable fabric on earth.

My wife and I are very happy with the mattress and in particular the fantastic guidance from the blokes at ZENNA. My wife and I have tried both sides of the mattress and while both sides offer me ample support, my wife prefers the softer side. Excellent value for money.

Luca

The mattress is extremely comfortable, not too hard or too soft, just perfect for a goodnight sleep. It comes with plenty of ventilation holes so you won’t overheat.
We also liked the fact that it’s 100% natural, allergy free and comes with a 10yr warranty.

Sara

The Zenna mattress is brilliant!!! We purchased a king mattress two years ago and it has maintained its form and comfort (despite our toddler frequently using it as a trampoline). The mattress offers the perfect amount of firmness while still being soft. An all-round excellent product and company – highly recommended.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Natural latex is one of the most recommended materials for back pain because it offers responsive support that keeps the spine in alignment, while contouring around the hips and shoulders to reduce pressure points. It also returns to shape instantly when you move, which prevents the sinking feeling that worsens back stiffness on memory foam.

Medium-firm is widely considered the best firmness for back pain, and that is exactly where the Zenna mattress sits. Too soft, and the lower back sinks out of alignment. Too firm, and pressure points build up at the shoulders and hips, which forces the spine to twist during the night.

Natural latex has 7 distinct sleeping zones built into the block. Each zone is calibrated to support a different part of the body, the shoulders, lumbar, and hips, so the spine stays in its natural curve regardless of sleep position. The high resilience of latex means the support is instantaneous, not gradual like foam.

Memory foam contours by softening under heat and pressure, which traps you in one position and lets the lower back sag overnight. Natural latex contours through elasticity, supporting you in any position you move into and pushing back gently to keep the spine aligned. Latex also breathes better, so you avoid the heat build-up that aggravates back inflammation.

Many customers report significant improvement with chronic lower back pain, sciatica, and stiffness within the first few weeks. Natural latex is approved by health professionals for orthopaedic support, and Zenna is recommended by Choice Magazine as the only latex mattress that meets their rigorous criteria. If you have a specific medical condition, talk to your GP or physiotherapist before changing your mattress.

Most people notice a difference within the first week, with full adjustment between 2 and 4 weeks as the body settles into the new support. This is why we offer a 100-night trial: enough time to experience the full benefit before committing. Take it slow on the first few nights if you are transitioning from a much softer or much firmer bed.
